Intelligent Nutrients joins Green-e Marketplace with 100% renewable energy purchaseJune 29, 2009—Independent certification organization Center for Resource Solutions recently announced that Intelligent Nutrients, a manufacturer of certified organic personal care products, aromas, and nutraceutical supplements, joined the CRS Green-e Marketplace by purchasing enough Green-e Energy Certified renewable energy to meet 100% of the annual electricity needs for its entire U.S. operations.
The Minneapolis-based company purchased 427 MWh of Green-e Energy Certified renewable energy certificates (RECs) from Xcel Energy and 3Degrees. As a member of Green-e Marketplace, Intelligent Nutrients can now display the Green-e logo on its company Web site and on over 20 products so far, to inform their customers of the renewable energy purchase.
Still at the infancy stage, green building retrofit companies are creating new ways to show organizations how to save money, cut energy use and reduce carbon emissions through energy and lighting retrofits.
The Energy Retrofit Group (ERG), a subsidiary of Adache Group Architects, Inc., as an example, has launched its new energy conservation website, aimed at showing how large commercial buildings can maximize their energy efficiency through retrofits, reports Building Design & Construction.
The site provides links to government programs and tax incentives for energy retrofitting as well as links to government loan guarantee programs for energy retrofits and renewable energy grants for solar, wind and geothermal installations.
