by Brianna Crandall — June 12, 2013—The winners of the 2013 Best of NeoCon Competition were announced June 10 at an awards breakfast hosted by Contract magazine on the first day of the NeoCon 2013 contract furnishings show. Celebrating its 24th year, the prestigious Best of NeoCon Competition honors new commercial interiors products that are introduced to the market during NeoCon. These products are introduced in 39 categories ranging from Architectural Products to Workplace Technologies.
For 2013, a group of 48 jurors, consisting of interior designers, architects, and facilities management professionals, reviewed 370 products over the three days before NeoCon began. Gold and Silver Best of Neocon Awards were presented, as well as Innovation Awards and Editors’ Choice Awards.
The Best of Competition Award was presented to Haworth and Obscure Digital for the team’s Bluescape solution. Designed by Jeff Reuschel, Haworth, the Haworth Design Team and Obscura Digital, Bluescape is described as “infinite, collaborative workspace designed to accelerate decision-making by enabling anyone to create, communicate, visualize, organize, and strategize virtually anything, anywhere, anytime.” The solution was also the Gold Award winner for Workplace Technologies.

For 45 years, the NeoCon show held at The Merchandise Mart in Chicago has been a singular event for the exposition of contract furniture, furnishings and services in the commercial and institutional fields. Held annually in June, NeoCon attracts over 40,000 facilities and government executives, designers and architects from around the world.
