Carrier expands centrifugal chiller line, heat pump ductless systems

by Brianna Crandall — January 28, 2015—Carrier, a global provider of high-tech HVAC solutions and a unit of United Technologies Corp., has added several new and upgraded heating, ventilating and air-conditioning solutions to its offerings that the company announced and showcased at the AHR Expo in Chicago, ending today.

AquaEdge 19XR centrifugal chiller line

Carrier’s newly expanded AquaEdge 19XR centrifugal chiller line is now commercially available up to 3,000 tons. The line, which was introduced in early 2014 to serve large buildings and process applications in need of efficient and reliable heating and air-conditioning solutions, is now available from 800 to 3,000 tons.

The newest AquaEdge 19XR is engineered to provide environmentally responsible, reliable and quiet operation. It features two-stage compression technology, which helps to create one of the most cost-effective and technologically advanced heating and air conditioning products available for large buildings such as skyscrapers, airports and universities, says Carrier.

The AquaEdge 19XR delivers numerous benefits, from efficient design to streamlined innovation, backed by Carrier’s more than 110 years of HVAC experience. The expanded capacity AquaEdge 19XR is available for immediate sale.

Infinity Series ductless systems; other ductless system upgrades

Carrier has added a new line of advanced Infinity Series ductless systems, and enhanced and expanded its existing lines to provide a complete range of ductless systems that boast greater efficiency, reliability and flexibility for home and commercial applications.

The new Infinity Series is said to be Carrier’s most advanced ductless system, offering consumers superior heating and cooling technology in a variety of models and styles. It features a Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio (SEER) 30.5 rating and is capable of cooling in outdoor temperatures up to 130 degrees and heating at minus 22 degrees. It also comes in white and gray finish options and has Wi-Fi controls.

In addition to the new ductless Infinity Series, Carrier also has upgraded its existing Performance, Comfort and Toshiba Carrier series single- and multi-zone ductless systems for residential and light commercial uses. The Performance Series was expanded to include cassette, ducted and console units.
