ISS wins or expands FM contracts in Sweden, Chile, Brazil, Scotland

by Brianna Crandall — September 1, 2014—Global facilities services provider ISS has won or expanded outsourcing contracts in several countries in recent weeks, including the following.

Sunderby Hospital, Sweden

Norrbotten County Council selected ISS to deliver cleaning services at Sunderby Hospital in Sweden until 2017. ISS Sweden has provided services at the hospital since January 1, 2008, and with the new agreement, ISS will continue to provide services until January 31, 2017, with an option to extend for a further three years. ISS will deliver a range of services such as daily cleaning, floor care and window cleaning.

Mall Plaza, Chile

Mall Plaza, well-known operator of shopping centers in Latin America, awarded ISS an integrated facilities management (IFS) contract covering all of its shopping malls in the northern part of Chile. ISS Chile will provide cleaning, pest control, stray animal control, gardening and garbage disposal services to five malls in the northern part of Chile with around 200 ISS employees. Mall Plaza chose ISS for its strong presence in that part of the country; ISS’s attractive proposal in terms of price and services; and Mall Plaza’s objective to ally with a multinational company to find best practices for its services.

Intermédica Health System, Brazil

Intermédica Health System, one of the largest operators of corporate health plans in Brazil, expanded its contract with ISS to include care services in two additional hospitals and 43 health centers. The partnership between ISS Brazil and Intermédica Health System commenced in 2007 with cleaning services at Hospital Nossa Senhora do Rosário. When choosing ISS as partner, specialized services with effective and focused management on a global quality standard, ISS’ portfolio, and its service concept of the Power of Human Touch reportedly made the difference.

Edinburgh College, Scotland

ISS U.K. added additional sites and services to its cleaning contract with Edinburgh College, Scotland, one of the U.K.’s largest regional colleges, formed in 2012 by the merger of Edinburgh’s Telford, Jewel & Esk and Stevenson Colleges. ISS will provide a mixture of both “hard” and “soft” facilities management support services, including cleaning, maintenance, security and landscaping. The contract will cover four main campuses and five satellite sites.
