Kimball Health furniture division launches to support healthcare environments

by Brianna Crandall — November 19, 2014—Kimball Health, a division of Kimball Office and a brand unit of Kimball International, launched this week at the Healthcare Design Conference on evidence-based design for healthcare in San Diego. With patients, families and staff in mind, Kimball Health offers a highly styled line of innovative, sustainable products specifically designed for healthcare environments, in conjunction with the vast Kimball Office product portfolio.

“Kimball Health is focused on the details essential in the healthcare environment so that designers and end users can obtain better outcomes for patients, their families and the staff that heals them,” said Mike Wagner, president of Kimball Office. “Our 45-year history of creating purposeful products gives us the foundation on which to make innovative products that look beautiful and can stand up to the durability required by rapidly changing healthcare environments.”

Through evidence-based design, Kimball Health says it is addressing today’s continuum of care with a vast collection of products that vitally support healthcare environments. Within each of the new products, flexibility is at the centerpiece of design. Innovative details, a wide variety of options, and multiple functionalities are a common theme throughout the entire line of products and styles. Most of the new pieces include Cupron, an inherent antimicrobial material, on at least a portion of the surfaces.

Individually, thoughtful attention has been paid to every design detail while aesthetic cohesiveness remains a constant, allowing for products and collections to coordinate seamlessly, says the company. Combining these key elements provides a useful product offering to healthcare designers and facilities managers, providing the flexibility required for today’s dynamic healthcare environment.

Kimball Health now offers furniture solutions for nearly every interior application of the healthcare project. The new company unveiled three new collections, as well as a sleeper chair, a treatment chair and casegoods. Products featured at the Healthcare Design Conference are:
