By Brianna Crandall, June 9, 2014—Visitors to American Seating's showroom (10th floor, space #148) at this year's NeoCon contract furnishings show June 9-11 in Chicago can look forward to being inspired by several new designer-focused initiatives. Most notably, the company is unveiling Rely, a comprehensive system solution for today's dynamic higher education market. Additionally, American Seating is previewing Nima, a new stylish, multipurpose chair from renowned designer Giancarlo Piretti. The company will also launch a revamped Web site, which will be viewable in American Seating's NeoCon showroom, offering visitors access to the company's complete product lines.

Rely

Rely is a fully coordinating system of highly mobile and easily configurable tables, white boards, lecterns and more, for adaptability in learning environments and similar settings.

Rely is a fully coordinating system of highly mobile and easily configurable tables, white boards, lecterns and more. Featuring a contemporary, cohesive design, the elements can be easily matched with additional furniture products such as study carrels or tandem lounge seating to create design consistency throughout a variety of environments. The system's inherent flexibility, mobility and adaptability make it an ideal solution for today's higher education market, where active learning requires quick configuration for a wide range of tasks and peer-to-peer or instructor-to-student learning, notes the company.

American Seating says the system appropriately reflects the company's "Designs for Learning" trademark and coordinates seamlessly with the award-winning Us Chair family. Rely has been nominated for a Best of NeoCon Award in the Education Solutions category.

Nima is designed to offer exceptional comfort through a minimalistic design; an articulating back movement provides for a comfortable, dynamic and ergonomic seating experience.

Nima chair family

Designed by iconic designer Giancarlo Piretti, Nima is a seating solution for virtually any contract environment including higher education. The chair is engineered to offer exceptional comfort through a minimalistic design. Its elegantly contoured seat back is the signature design element of the product and creates continuity within the entire line. An articulating back movement provides for a comfortable, dynamic and ergonomic seating experience, says the company. Five Nima prototypes, with and without arms and toppers in a variety of bases, are previewing at NeoCon and are slated for market introduction in the spring of 2015.

American Seating is also launching a redesigned Web site with a completely refreshed design and upgraded functionality, with easier accessibility from mobile devices. Visitors will notice clearer segmentation between the company's two main business segments, Architectural Environments and Transportation. Products and installations pages have been reorganized, and the Tools and Resources have been integrated throughout the site using new criteria and filters. The new Sales Locator will provide quicker access to more information about local representatives or industry experts.

Since 1886, Grand Rapids, Michigan-based American Seating has innovated world-class seating solutions for architectural environments, including the education, entertainment, contract and government contract markets. American Seating also serves as a leader in transportation seating. American Seating is committed to environmental stewardship and sustainability. The company achieved Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) Chain of Custody certification in 2012.
