20-20 Technologies Inc. has unveiled Version 6.0 of its popular 20-20 Office Design software. “Our focus over the past two years was to reengineer our existing design program to meet the precise needs of the contract interiors market,” said Kevin Bidner, 20-20’s Vice President of Contract and Commercial Interiors. Version 6.0 was developed to deliver unparalleled speed and power in both freestanding and panel system office design.
Some highlights of Version 6.0’s features are:
- Version 6.0 supports Windows 98/2000/NT.
- Version 6.0 was designed to create breakthroughs in photo-realistic graphics. On-screen furniture objects look like exact replicas of physical products, with all finishes, options, and moving parts available. Designers can create a “virtual-reality” presentation and e-mail it to a client who can move around in their proposed office on their own PC. These innovations make it easier for clients to visualize an office, and for sales professionals to close sales.
- A designer can generate full-color renderings in seconds, and view them on-screen with the client, or print them out on an inkjet printer for a proposal. Numerous renderings are provided, including a 3-D stereo rendering and the 3-D glasses to view it.
- 20-20 created the concept of “intelligent objects:” mathematical duplicates of real manufactured furniture. This leading-edge technology provides objects in a layout with all moving parts, finishes, and options built in. This means a designer can open doors and drawers, rotate objects to show them from any angle, change finishes and configurations, and see all these changes instantly on the screen.
- With version 6.0 a designer can open electronic catalogs from major manufacturers, and drag-and-drop products directly into a layout.
- The Design Assistant feature enables a manufacturer to build any design “rules and constraints” related to their products directly into their furniture objects. Version 6.0 can continually analyze a design in progress, detect any inaccuracies, and automatically edit the design or notify the designer of an error or omission.
