2006 CEFPI awards recognize school planning and architecture

October 30, 2006—The Council of Educational Facility Planners International (CEFPI) announced several 2006 award winners at the organization’s 83rd Annual Conference in Phoenix , AZ , in September. The facility/architecture winners are as follows:

Exhibition of School Planning & Architecture:

  • Project of Distinction Awards: University Academy Charter School, Caldwell Elementary School, Salt River Pima-Maricopa High School, Alpine School District—Prototype Elementary School

  • Design Concept Awards: New Upper Elementary School, Twelve Bridges High School, Gray Middle School

  • Lighthouse Award: Nathan Hale High School Performing Arts Center, Kotzebue K-12 School Expansion and Renovation, Chugach Optional Elementary School

9th Annual Impact on Learning Awards:

  • Effective Classroom Design: Bilhartz Elementary School—Duncanville Independent School District, Duncanville, TX

  • Historic Transformation: Bristow Middle School—West Hartford School District, West Hartford, CT
