3 Phases Energy Services earns Green-e certification

December 23, 2002—The Center for Resource Solutions (CRS) has announced that 3 Phases Energy Services has earned Green-e certification for their Tradable Renewable Certificate (TRC) product: Green Certificates. Corporate, government and residential customers who buy 3 Phases’ Green Certificates will have an independent assurance that their purchase supports generation from newly built wind power facilities across the U.S.A.

TRCs (or Green Tags) are created when a renewable energy facility generates electricity. Each unique certificate represents the attributes or benefits of 100% new renewable generation and is sold separately from the electricity. When a customer buys a TRC product such as Green Certificates they buy the benefit of displacing non-renewable power sources such as oil, gas and nuclear from the national grid. Green-e certifies that an amount of renewable energy equivalent to the customer’s purchase is delivered to the national electric grid.

Since 1997, Green-e has been a nationally recognized, voluntary certification program to help consumers identify renewable energy products sold in competitive retail electricity markets, regulated markets, and nationwide through Tradable Renewable Certificates (TRCs).
