June 22, 2007—A.L.P. Lighting Components, Inc., has purchased Spectrus, Inc., a leading supplier of plastic optical components. Comprised of Lexalite, Genesta, and PSI brands, Spectrus products address commercial, industrial and residential lighting markets, and lighting applications from fluorescent to HID.
The acquisition strengthens A.L.P.’s position as a global leader in lighting component manufacturing and is considered a crucial step to enhance its ability to serve the industry, says A.L.P. This addition dramatically increases its already expansive product offering and adds significant engineering and design capabilities as well as manufacturing capacity in injection molding, thermoforming, vacuum forming and other plastics operations.
Lexalite is best known for its precision injection molded refractors and reflectors for indoor and outdoor area and roadway applications, in addition to being a trusted source of high quality proprietary molding. The PSI and Genesta product ranges are derived from extrusion and thermoforming operations, consisting of prismatic sheet, profiles, puffs, dishes and squares.
