October 8, 2007—A new, specially formulated adhesive makes quick work of problem areas that can occur in wood flooring installations, according to manufacturer Advanced Adhesive Technologies (AAT). The adhesive works without the expensive dispensing equipment required by similar systems.
AAT’s Advanced Poxyfill Wood Floor Repair Kit contains everything needed to easily correct “popping” and “hollow” spots, filling voids in subfloors that do not meet industry standards for flatness, says the company. The unique cartridge system makes effective, professional repairs without the need of specialized dispensing equipment, significantly reducing the costs associated with traditional repair kits.
The cartridge and adapter fit into a standard caulk gun. Unlike water-based repair products, the adhesive will not expand wood flooring and can be used to repair hollow spots under engineered and solid wood flooring, including bamboo.
The blending nozzle meters the two-component adhesive in the correct ratio, generating an extremely aggressive bond to substrates and to filling voids in subfloors. The adhesive begins to cure right away and is fully cured in 30 minutes.
