ABB Electricity Metering nets $2.2 million EEA contract

ABB Electricity Metering, a developer of advanced electrical meters, has been awarded a $2.2 million contract by the Egyptian Electricity Authority (EEA)—a subsidiary of Egyptian Electricity Holding Company—to provide its AIN ALPHA meters, software, and handheld equipment to support the EEA’s eight-region Time of Day Metering Project.

AIN ALPHA meters are electronic, fully programmable polyphase meters that collect, process, and store energy and demand data on either a time-of-use or demand basis. Available configurations support features such as import-export metering, load profile recording, pulse outputs, and remote communications. Other features include wide voltage range (57 to 480 VAC), fixed factory calibration, data and communication security, event recording, reverse power detection, automatic self-tests, and a continuous supply of power for the real-time clock and calendar.
