June 22, 2005—Technology specialist ABK has launched a mobile computing resource center designed to deliver flexible, rapid and on-demand communications and IT facilities and to provide effective business continuity in the event of severe operational disruption, the company says.
The company’s Commun-IT division has developed a mobile satellite van which provides on-demand IT on wheels wherever it is required. The van comes equipped with a wireless network, broadband and Internet connectivity and all the necessary hardware to deliver complete communications in a disaster recovery environment that is entirely self-powered and self-sufficient, the company notes.
The van serves as a mobile computing center that can be deployed quickly and easily anywhere. It is fully self-powered and operates on a wireless local area network, removing the need to lay extra power cables and Internet lines or rig up generators.
