April 28, 2006—The American Council of Engineering Companies of New York recently honored member firms for outstanding engineering projects in the US and abroad.
Twenty-four Diamond Awards, the highest award at the state level, were presented for projects in several categories ranging from Environmental, Water and Wastewater, Transportation, Structural Systems, and Building Technology Systems to Studies, Research and Surveying, and Mapping. Seventy Platinum, Gold and Silver Awards were also awarded.
The Diamond Awards honor such projects as: Reconstruction of Control Houses on three White Plains Road Line Transit Stations; Design of the Frito-Lay LEED Gold-Certified Distribution Center; Design of Nokia US Corporate Headquarters; Infill Infrastructure for Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center; Taipei 101, Taipei, Taiwan; Seven World Trade Center; and UV Disinfection Energy Efficiency Optimization Studies at Albany’s 40 MGD Loudonville UV Facility.
