ACGIH and AIHA to work together for safety and health of industrial hygienists

March 4, 2005—The American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienists (ACGIH) and the American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA) have signed a memorandum of understanding to jointly pursue initiatives dedicated to protecting workers and improving occupational and environmental health and safety, the organizations say.

One goal of the collaboration will be to develop common products, education programs, and other services for the benefit of both organizations membership and the industrial hygiene profession at large.

The associations will also develop guidelines to steer the direction of future collaborations.

ACGIH Worldwide is a member-based organization that advances worker health and safety through education and the development and dissemination of scientific and technical knowledge. For more information, visit the organization Web site.

AIHA promotes, protects, and enhances industrial hygienists and other occupational health, safety and environmental professionals in their efforts to improve the health and wellbeing of workers, the community, and the environment.
