December 21, 2005—AfterGlow Technologies, the commercial division of Noesis, Inc., announced today they have successfully installed photoluminescent safety egress systems in The American Institute of Architects (AIA) New York Chapter’s cutting edge Center for Architecture.
Although the AIA’s Center for Architecture does not technically fall within the present legal mandate of Local Law 26/04 for New York’s commercial buildings, which mandates that photoluminescent markings be installed in all stairwells of commercial buildings more than 75 feet tall, the AIA voluntarily complied to underscore the necessity of confronting total life safety issues in the design of the modern building.
Integrating advanced technologies and innovative design, AfterGlow Technologies installed a client-specific photoluminescent safety system for the Center.
AfterGlow Technologies is the commercial division of Noesis, the company selected by the Pentagon as its sole photoluminescent contractor for 9/11 reconstruction. For more on the company, visit its Web site.
