April 9, 2003—The upcoming American Industrial Hygiene conference and exhibition (AIHce) in Dallas will offer more than 75 hours of mold education for indoor environment professionals, builders, remodelers, mold remediators, school officials, legal and insurance personnel, and anyone else with an interest in mold.
The week long conference will begin with a full-day mold symposium on Saturday, May 10, and will continue through May 15. The Expo hall will open May 12-14 exhibiting products for mold remediation companies, mold testing, respiratory protection, and more. Week- long and one-day passes are available for education and the Expo hall.
Highlights will include:
- “Environmental Mold: State of the Science, State of the Art” a full-day symposium on May 10, 2003. Topics include: Law, Insurance, a Regulatory and Legislative Update, and a Fungal Health Effects Update.
- “Indoor Air Quality Research: New Directions” will be the focus of a second symposium on May 11. Topics will include: The Global Burden of Disease From Indoor Air Pollution; IAQ-Dust Mite Allergens and Asthma: Are Our Homes Causing Asthma Pandemic?; Microbes in Buildings-Exposure and Effect; and, Ventilation, Energy and IAQ.
- A week-long “mold track” with professional education sessions and over 20 hours of technical sessions.
- General Session speaker Melinda Ballard, president of Policyholders of America, followed by a question and answer session with a panel of mold experts.
