AIHA launches online auction site for new and used OEHS equipment

June 6, 2005—The American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA) has launched OEHS AuctionCentral, a new occupational and environmental health and safety online auction website, says the association.

This central marketplace will allow users to buy and sell new gently used professional equipment like gas monitors, noise dosimeters, and other instruments. The service is open to all OEHS professionals. OEHS AuctionCentral will provide a new outlet for equipment sales, as well as a way to earn money on items for which an individual or company no longer have use, AIHS notes.

The system is designed to be easy to use and offers international translation options. AIHA members who use OEHS AuctionCentral will pay a $19.99 insertion fee, as well as 3 percent of the final sale value for any item listed. Nonmembers will pay $39.99 and 5 percent of the final sale value for any item listed. If an item does not sell, there will not be a final sale charge and the seller will be entitled to re-list one time for free. Secure payment options are available.

Founded in 1939, AIHA is the premier association of occupational and environmental health and safety professionals.
