January 8, 2007—Permissible exposure limits and nanotechnology will be top occupational issues in the coming years, according to the results of the American Industrial Hygiene Association’s (AIHA) biannual membership survey.
The survey asked AIHA members to identify top public policy issues within the occupational safety and health profession for 2007-2008. Members chose updating PELs, adopting the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals, studying nanotechnology, incorporating injury and illness prevention programs into written safety policies, and assessing generic exposure as top OSHA issues.
