AIHA publishes guide for decontaminating chemical protective clothing and equipment

March 3, 2006—The American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA) recently published guidelines offering the latest methods for decontaminating chemical protective clothing (CPC) and equipment.

Guidelines for the Decontamination of Chemical Protective Clothing and Equipment includes the most current practices for regulatory compliance, decontamination work plans, waste management, hazard and risk assessments, CPC reuse, quality assurance, and training.

Pengfei Gao, of the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) National Personal Protective Technology Laboratory, is the lead author of the guidelines, which incorporate NIOSH’s research and expertise on protective clothing and equipment. For ordering information visit AIHA.
