AMEC to monitor engineering services at Canary Wharf

Construction and consultancy group AMEC began providing the mechanical and electrical services for Barclays Capital Services at Canary Wharf on January 1, 2001, following a competitive tendering exercise. The team based at the corporate headquarters will provide services for two properties covering a total floor area of approximately 700,000 sq. ft. They will provide a comprehensive, 24/7 service covering the operation and maintenance of engineering services plus the provision of new works. The activities will include state-of-the-art condition-monitoring techniques for the key plant and the implementation of a condition-based maintenance regime. The output-based contract incorporates a comprehensive performance-related measurement scheme involving a range of performance indicators.
