American Military University becomes academic partner of ASIS

May 5, 2003—American Military University (AMU) has become an academic partner of ASIS International (ASIS), the professional organization for security management professionals worldwide. AMU supports the professional development of ASIS members by offering relevant, online academic courses. Registration for courses is currently open, and new class sessions start at the beginning of every month.

AMU will reinforce ASIS’ efforts to enhance the careers of security professionals by offering its members undergraduate college courses focusing on physical and workplace security, information security, transportation security, homeland and international security, and terrorism. The Master of Arts in Security Management has concentrations in business security, intelligence methods, industrial security, fraud investigation and more.

The content of many AMU courses parallels the subject matter that forms the basis of ASIS’ three certification programs: the Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Physical Security Professional (PSP), and Professional Certified Investigator (PCI). Coursework in an AMU program also may qualify for recertification credit from ASIS. For specifics about ASIS certifications, visit their Web site.
