The second edition of APPA’s self-assessment and continuous improvement tool, The Strategic Assessment Model, was fully revised and expanded in 2001. Authors Briselden, Cain, Christensen, Givens, Harkenrider, Kinnaman, & Long discuss how Strategic Assessment Model (SAM) concepts and performance indicators are organized within the Balanced Scorecard structure, and how they utilize the Baldrige Quality Award criteria. The new edition also includes the SAM surveys as well as eight case studies from schools around the world on how SAM is implemented and used as a benchmark for successful facilities management. The publication is available from APPA for $140 ($90 for APPA members).
