Apply now to earn a 2001 Energy Star Award from EPA

The Energy Star awards recognize the outstanding efforts of organizations across the country that have demonstrated environmental leadership while improving their profitability or highlighting their fiscal responsibility. The program is by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) of the US Department of Energy.

The contest is available to organizations that have partnered with either the Energy Star, Green Lights, or Climate Wise programs. A panel that joins representatives from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) with business and community leaders will judge the applications. Presentation of the 2001 Energy Star Awards will be held March 20, 2001 at the Marriott at Metro Center Hotel, Washington, DC.

Online applications can be obtained at www.epa.gov/appdstar/estar/awards01.html. EPA cautions that the deadline of January 5, 2001 will not be extended.
