August 2, 2002—ARAMARK, has signed an agreement to acquire the Clinical Technology Services (CTS) business of Premier, Inc., one of the nation’s largest alliances of not-for-profit hospitals and healthcare systems, for approximately $100 million in cash.
CTS currently handles the management, maintenance and repair of clinical equipment for more than 180 hospital and healthcare systems across the country. Premier provides supply chain and patient care improvement solutions to enable member healthcare organizations to maintain high quality and to reduce cost.
ARAMARK, through its ARAMARK ServiceMaster Facility Services business, currently provides clinical equipment services to a client base of approximately 175 healthcare institutions in the U.S.
ARAMARK also manages an extensive array of other services, including patient dietary planning and menu development, retail food services, site operations and maintenance, energy management, housekeeping, patient transportation, laundry and linen, at more than 1,000 healthcare institutions around the world.
