January 19, 2005—A new executive/conference chair series called Motto by Arcadia features an exclusive urethane arm design that mirrors the angular silhouette of the chair back. In addition, a single, compound curve shell was designed to readily respond to body movement for support and comfort.
Planned specifically for the conferencing environment at a competitive price point, Motto has a wedge-shaped chair arm at a 45 degree angle so that it would nestle nicely between chair seat and back, according to designers David Ritch and Mark Saffell of the design firm 5D Studio. The angle blurs the lines between chair top and side, “taking away from any boxy look,” they add.
Among other product line’s features: mid- and high-back models; signature black urethane arm; adjustable or fixed height back; synchro-tilt or knee tilt mechanism. There are two base options: black nylon or polished aluminum.
