November 18, 2005—ARCHIBUS, Inc., has announced the release of FM Web Central V.15, which originally debuted in 1997.
This new version provides improved business intelligence and analytics to access a wide cross-section of facilities and infrastructure management data, the company says. These tools, explains ARCHIBUS, help users generate quick, easy-to-understand views that support high-level strategic decision-making and encourage collaborative knowledge transfer. They include personalized dashboard capabilities, predefined workflow rules, integrated document management, multi-dimensional view analysis, reporting to PDF format, Microsoft IIS integration, and more.
In addition to the enhancements to FM Web Central’s core functionality, the new version delivers three new Web-based applications: Project Management, Capital Budgeting, and Move Management, as well as Web-based activities within the J2EE platformEmergency Preparedness and Asset Management.
Among other features:
- Intelligent dashboards offer instant information access and analysis. Information displays in easy-to-read-and-interpret charts, graphs, and maps, which can be further customized. Dashboards can be created for casual users or key executives.
- Workflow guidelines speed communication with predefined workflow rules that reduce administrative errors, eliminate follow-up phone calls and emails, document process and execution, and ensure consistency among various departments and sites. These rules and guidelines can be easily modified and personalized to each organization’s own procedures and priorities.
- All-in-one document management lets users manage all facilities and infrastructure-related files, such as leases, work orders, invoices, and contracts, as natural extensions of tasks. Documents are incorporated into workflow processes, email notifications, and status tracking, eliminating need for a separate document management package.
- Enhanced view analysis improves analytic capabilities, providing instant access to secure multi-dimensional data and enables further analysis by category, organization, space or account hierarchies, by time-based criteria, or by corporate standards.
- Interfaces ease communication among users, who can easily generate PDF versions of Web-based data in a separate browser window with a single click. Data in the PDF file comply with any security restrictions place on it so that easy-to-share files contain only data relevant to a user’s needs. Meanwhile, the product provides high-speed data integration and access with Microsoft Internet Information Service and Active Directory, enabling seamless authentication and deployment, all with single sign-on features.
ARCHIBUS/FM Web Central V.15 also supports AutoCAD 2006, the next generation design software from Autodesk, Inc. New features in AutoCAD 2006 make it much easier for ARCHIBUS customers to extract lifecycle information from their existing architectural designs and use this data for strategic planning, lease management, asset disposition, emergency preparedness, and other mission-critical facilities/infrastructure functions.
