ARCHIBUS given top award from APPA for educational FM improvement tool

September 25, 2006—ARCHIBUS, Inc., has received the top Strategic Business Partner Award for 2006 from APPA, the association serving educational facilities management professionals. The award is the highest given by that organization to a business partner and was presented at the organization’s annual conference in July 2006. ARCHIBUS is a provider of infrastructure and facilities management software worldwide.

The award was given in recognition of ARCHIBUS’s work with APPA for, among other activities, developing the Facilities Performance Indicators Dashboard that gauges facilities management efficiency at institutions of higher education.

ARCHIBUS partnered with APPA to combine their members’ institutional data with ARCHIBUS/FM Web Central and dashboard technology to support continuous improvement and organizational excellence. The resulting Facilities Performance Indicators Dashboard gives subscribers Web access to the APPA Facilities Performance Indicators Report data in a format that graphically illustrates an organization’s facilities performance by comparing it to their target goals and to peer institutions’ performance.

“The dashboard developed with the APPA Facilities Performance Indicators Team,” says ARCHIBUS CEO and founder Bruce K. Forbes, “will provide an unprecedented and invaluable management perspective to APPA’s 1500-plus learning institution members and the thousands of educational facilities management professionals who strive to provide their institutions with best-of-class services.”

Forbes adds, “The APPA dashboard lets users understand all aspects of their facilities and helps them align their operational goals with the educational outcomes of the institution. Linking programming, financial management, design and construction, and facilities operations in an integrated way is essential to achieving educational outcomes.”
