July 8, 2005—ARCHIBUS, Inc., presented its Platinum Circle Award to Deborah Lott and Gary Vernick of the City University of New York (CUNY). The Platinum Circle Award is presented to individuals whose facilities management practices contribute to creating and managing productive work environments that support business objectives.
Lott and Vernick demonstrate consistent and outstanding FM strategies resulting in improved quality of service and facility effectiveness, and their efforts contribute to the overall profitability of their organizations or those which they serve, stated ARCHIBUS in making the award during the recent 2005 International ARCHIBUS/FM Users’ Conference.
At CUNY, Lott and Vernick are overseeing automation efforts at the nation’s largest urban public university, serving more than 450,000 students at 19 colleges in New York City, in more than 330 buildings on 26.2 million square feet of space. They use ARCHIBUS/FM to establish standards, says the global provider of facilities and infrastructure management solutions and services, ensuring that information is accurate, up-to-date, and easily comparable from campus to campus. With ARCHIBUS/FM as a single centralized source of information, they support the University’s long-term growth and modernization strategies, keeping pace with its increasing role in the vitality of the city and state of New York.
Thirteen years ago, before moving to CUNY, Lott and Vernick used ARCHIBUS/FM at JP Morgan to automate 5 million square feet of space. They were motivated by the need to allocate and charge-back occupancy costs to various departments, to find unoccupied office space, and to better manage in-house design projects.
