November 5, 2001—Ariba Inc., a spend management solutions provider, has partnered with CascadeWorks, an e-procurement services provider, to produce Ariba Workforce—a spend management software solution that reduces the cost of procuring temporary workers, contractors and consultants for Global 2000 companies (leaders in aerospace, computer hardware and software, financial services, and telecommunications).
Ariba Workforce allows users to effectively procure and manage contingent workers by: enabling timesheets and expenses to be submitted and approved online; paying vendors more quickly; and allowing buyers to take advantage of existing fast payment incentives. In addition, billing, change order, volume discount, and other critical information can be collected and tracked.
According to the Center for Advanced Purchasing Studies (CAPS Research), workforce procurement accounts for up to 20 percent of annual purchasing dollars.
