June 17, 2002—Armstrong Ceiling Systems has added new music and paging speakers to its “i-ceilings” sound systems, a comprehensive system of loud speakers and electronics. The system integrates with acoustical ceilings to deliver multiple applications, including music, paging, and sound masking through a single set of electronics. Armstrong calls this unique in the industry. The complete system contains special i-ceilings speakers, a pair of programmable, 8-channel processors, and a 4-channel power amplifier. From an esthetic point of view, says Armstrong, i-ceilings speakers look like other ceiling panels and coordinate with Armstrong’s most popular ceiling patterns.
With the addition of the new music and paging speakers, i-ceilings speaker panels are divided into three distinct series of products. The Essentials series is specially designed to provide paging and background music. The Applause series is designed for high-fidelity music and sound reinforcement applications. The Privacy series is an enhanced speaker recommended for sound masking applications to improve speech privacy.
Announcement of the addition of music and paging to speakers was made during NeoCon, in Armstrong’s Merchandise Mart showroom. For more information, contact Armstrong.
