ASCE taps Documentum eRoom to make meetings more efficient

August 27, 2003—Documentum, the California-based provider of enterprise content management, recently announced that the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) has extended its use of Documentum eRoom, the company’s enterprise collaboration solution. Using eRoom, ASCE provides a flexible, Web-based collaborative environment for nearly nine hundred different engineering committees to collaborate across organizational and geographic boundaries, make decisions, share knowledge, and leverage best practices.

ASCE committees use eRoom across a variety of business projects, including knowledge sharing and collaboration around large-scale structural projects, mentoring, establishing best practices, and organizing and executing global conferences and events. In addition, the society’s board of directors deployed eRoom to communicate, make decisions, and conduct business—reducing its need to travel.
