February 21, 2007—The Association of Specialists in Cleaning & Restoration President Brian Spiegel, CR, said the trade group (ASCR) will launch a major rebranding of the association that has served the industry for more than 60 years. He said the association will now be known as the Restoration Industry Association.
The name change is effective immediately.
Other aspects of the rebranding will be rolled out in the coming months and include a new consumer-oriented Web site, says the organization. Victims of natural disasters such as tornadoes and hurricanes, home or business owners with suspected mold or other environmental hazards, and individuals or companies seeking information regarding rug and textile cleaning will be served by information and guidance from industry professionals.
Strategically, RIA intends to become more active in preserving and protecting best practices in the restoration industry, resulting in more options and higher standards for consumers.
RIA is also committed to educational excellence within the industry and will continue to offer high caliber certification programs in the areas of environmental, textile and restoration. Augmenting the varied skill sets and proficiencies of members, RIA will continue to offer education events on business practices for optimum efficiencies in the workplace.
