February 17, 2003—The Association of Specialists in Cleaning and Restoration (ASCR) has released a mold remediation best practices document for its members. The ASCR Board of Directors carried out a study of mold remediation best practices in July 2002 in order to present members with a working understanding of the major issues related to mold remediation work; a description of authoritatively accepted practices within the industry; and citations to the source documents that support each mainline position.
The ASCR site also contains a compendium of written positions taken by leading authorities in government and scientific associations. The document describes 28 distinct issues in a chart format.
