June 29, 2007—To broaden the knowledge of engineers and engineering organizations, ASHRAE and the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) are making it easier for their members to join their respective groups.
Under a new agreement, ASHRAE members who hold professional engineering designations can join CIBSE without undergoing the normal qualifications review. Likewise, CIBSE members can join without undergoing ASHRAE’s admissions and advancement review.
ASHRAE, founded in 1894, fulfills its mission of advancing heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration to serve humanity and promote a sustainable world through research, standards writing, publishing and continuing education.
CIBSE is the UK-based professional institution and qualifying body for over 18,000 engineers worldwide in the field of building services engineering, covering heating, air conditioning, lighting and electrical systems.
