July 1, 2005 — Climatic design information for Anniston, Ala., to Masvingo, Zimbabwe, with 4,420 sites in between, is included in the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) 2005 Handbook, Fundamentals.
The volume covers basic principles and provides essential data for HVAC&R design with more than 1,000 pages and 40 chapters on a variety of HVAC&R topics, covering general engineering information, basic materials, load and energy calculations and duct and pipe design, ASHRAE says.
Chapter 28, Climatic Design Information, contains information for 4,422 sites, an increase of some 3,000 sites over earlier volumes, notes the organization. Due to the amount of data, it is included on a CD accompanying the Handbook, the organization says.
The volume also contains a new chapter, Chapter 26, “Insulation for Mechanical Systems, which discusses thermal and acoustical insulation for mechanical systems in residential, commercial, and industrial facilities.
