ASHRAE is recognized by Alliance to Save Energy for its commitment to energy efficiency

August 24, 2005—ASHRAE has been recognized by a national energy alliance for its exemplary illustration of and commitment to energy-efficient policy and practice.

The Alliance to Save Energy has recognized development of Advanced Energy Design Guide for Small Office Buildings with an honorable mention award. This is the first time the Alliance has given an honorable mention as part of its annual Stars of Energy Efficiency Awards program.

The guide was developed by a committee representing a diverse group of energy professionals drawn from the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), the American Institute of Architects (AIA), the New Buildings Institute (NBI), and the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America (IESNA) and the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE).

The guide provides a sensible, hands-on approach to design through use of products that are practical and commercially available as off-the-shelf technology from major manufacturers, says ASHRAE.
