December 27, 2002—The American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) Learning Institute is developing a series of continuing education modules for HVAC professionals that can be used by businesses or educational institutions as seminars or “lunch and learn” programs.
The modules will be tailored for three- to six-hour presentations on topics of current interest and will include student handouts, instructor’s materials, and a series of PowerPoint slides.
The first of these modules, Humidity Control in Commercial Buildings, is designed for HVAC professionals who need to control humidity in commercial or institutional buildings. The second module features a more in-depth discussion of moisture loads and how they vary by climate and building type.
The program is available to companies for an $800 licensing fee, which allows them to present material to their employees as many times as they wish. Instructional materials are provided in the form of a CD from which licensees can print as many copies of the student handouts and instructor notes as needed.
