ASHRAE’s Pocket Guide serves as quick reference for engineers

July 1, 2005 — Information on refrigerants, ventilation rates, thermal comfort and acoustical data is highlighted in the new Pocket Guide from the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE).

The Pocket Guide serves as a ready reference for engineers whose mobility keeps them from easy access to the ASHRAE Handbook volumes and information in ASHRAE standards, says ASHRAE.

The 2005 Guide includes new information on performance and pipe sizing for new refrigerants, refrigeration safety, ventilation requirements for residential and non-residential occupancies, occupant thermal comfort, sound and vibration control, thermal storage, and radiant panel heating and cooling and air-to-air recovery.

The cost of the 2005 ASHRAE Pocket Guide is $42 ($34 ASHRAE members). To order, contact ASHRAE Customer Service at 1-800-527-4723 (United States and Canada) or 404-636-8400 (worldwide), fax 404-321-5478, by mail at 1791 Tullie Circle NE, Atlanta, GA 30329, or visit the Web site.
