February 1, 2008—The American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) recently launched an upgraded version of its Interior Design Product Finder—a Web-based buyers’ guide providing design industry professionals direct and immediate access to a broad array of products and service listings.
The Product Finder offers two different methods of searching for products and services. The guide uses search technology that continually indexes the content of participating supplier Web sites. Users have the option of performing keyword-driven searches that mirror traditional search engines or a category-specific search. Both methods produce the most relevant search results unique to the interior design industry without encountering the clutter of a general Internet search, notes ASID.
With the 2008 edition, users have the option to filter and search by state, industry partner, commercial provider, residential provider, and “To the Trade,” giving them a more flexible and effective search tool, says ASID. Also new this year is the Request for Information feature, which allows users to contact participating suppliers with a click of a button for assistance with their project specifications.
The guide, developed in partnership with MultiView, Inc., also includes a desktop search mechanism, allowing visitors to download a free application that makes the information on the product finder available on the user’s computer desktop.
