June 23, 2003—ASIS Internationals 2002 Annual Seminar & Exhibits attained the overall ranking of 123 in the 2003 issue of Tradeshow Week 200. It was the largest security industry show held in the United States.
The yearly seminar was awarded the spot because of the nearly 200,000 net square feet of exhibit space that was sold.
The event was record breaking for ASISattendance of 17,650 people, with 725 vendors to the security industry showcasing cutting-edge products in 1,960 booths that occupied all of the exhibit space in Philadelphias Pennsylvania Convention Center.
To be included on Tradeshow Weeks list, a show must have used at least 30,000 square feet of floor space. Carrie Jenson, Director of Directory Publications for the magazine, said that more than 3,000 national trade shows submitted forms for consideration.
This years seminar, the 49th for ASIS, will take place in the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans from Sept. 15 through 18. More than 725 vendors are expected.
