February 20, 2004—ASIS International recently published its 2004 edition of the ASIS Security Industry Buyers Guide (SIBG). More than 700 new companies were added to this edition, which has 1,100 product categories, 2,500 company listings, and more than 5,000 key personnel. The online version, enhanced and expanded in July 2003, contains more than 3,500 company listings.
This resource has been serving ASIS members for 18 years. It was chosen by the US Department of Defense (DoD) to maintain the proprietary DoD intranet, which is the portal used in selecting security products for the Department’s physical plant comprising more than 600,000 individual buildings and structures that are located at more than 6,000 various locations worldwide. ASIS provides quarterly updates of this database to the DoD.
