June 2, 2004—To assist occupational safety, health and environmental practitioners advance their careers and help employers find quality job candidates, the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE) has launched a new career Web site service called Nexsteps.
The interactive job service found at Nexsteps.org will be available for free for those searching for an occupational safety, health and environmental position and will cost a nominal fee for employers to post their job openings.
“This new on-line safety, health and environmental career center is another way we as the oldest and largest professional safety society help our members, and, employers find top professionals to develop and implement effective safety, health and environmental programs in the workplace.” ASSE President James ‘Skipper’ Kendrick said today.
During ASSE’s June 7-10 Professional Development Conference (PDC) and Exposition in Las Vegas, Nexsteps will be demonstrated in both the ASSE Service Center and the ASSE Career Center located in the convention center. This year the ASSE Career Center, a popular benefit for attendees, will also feature job, internship, and resume postings; career literature and resources; and the possibility of on-site interviewing for those candidates selected by on-site job seekers. The ASSE Career Center services provided are free.
