July 23, 2007—The Association for Facilities Engineering (AFE) is relocating its corporate headquarters from Cincinnati, Ohio, to the Washington, D.C. area. Effective August 1, 2007, the AFE mailing address will be 12100 Sunset Hills Road, Suite 130, Reston, VA 20190.Telephone number will be (703) 234-4066.
Executive Director Laurence Gration, CAE, said the move expands AFE’s ability to provide more efficiency, better response time to member needs, and an exciting range of opportunities to keep upgrading AFE overall. The association is known for its credential programs: Certified Plant Engineer, Certified Plant Maintenance Manager, and Certified Plant Supervisor; and its flagship publication, Facilities Engineering Journal.
AFE, founded in 1954, has members worldwide, and chapters throughout the U.S. It also has numerous strategic relationships with government entities, such as the U.S. Department of State, U.S. Postal Service, and NASA.
The organization anticipates similar partnerships growing with many other government organizations. Each government agency has people who do what AFE does and who can benefit from the organization’s training in facility and maintenance management skills.
