PricewaterhouseCoopers (PWC) is leading a consortium selected for a huge, unprecedented contract by the government of Australia for a wide range of services. Involved are all of the Australian global property management services, excluding defense properties domestic and overseas. The members of the consortium, led by PWC are Knight Frank Australia, Multiplex Constructions, and Colonial First State Investments.
The real estate portfolio is estimated at $1.4 billion for embassies, consulates, and residences in over 50 countries. The contract, with a 5-year minimum term, covers a broad range of services, starting with improving the investment performance of the government’s global portfolio. Day-to-day management of property, leases, maintenance, facilities, property services procurement, capital works programs, and coordination of the ongoing divestment of government properties. It is estimated that savings to the government over the life of the contract will be approximately USD $50 million.
