AXCESS’ Prism Video to provide networked security for over 150 SF school properties

March 4, 2002—The San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD), one of the largest public school districts in the state of California, will utilize the Prism Video line of networked CCTV equipment from AXCESS Inc., a provider of asset management products and solutions, in a pilot study as part of the “School Safety Program” for SFUSD’s 150 + school properties within the City of San Francisco. AXCESS’ integrator, Mokee Networks, Inc., of Petaluma, California, will provide the SFUSD with network cameras, network transmitters, and network recording software.

According to AXCESS, the company offers facilities managers and those responsible for safety and security in the education industry, a complete line of digital video and asset management solutions that are ideally suited for the needs of both large and small districts. In addition, an investment in AXCESS’ network video solutions offers backward compatibility with existing CCTV systems as well as forward growth as the district’s network is expanded.

This move represents the growing acceptance of digital video and AXCESS’ Prism Video line within the education industry, according to the company. With recent events whereby students and faculty have been placed in danger in educational facilities nationwide, school districts are looking to technology companies that provide effective and cost-efficient solutions as viable security options.
