BASF to provide SPF roofing to cities in Clinton Climate Initiative

November 26, 2007—BASF has announced that it will offer member cities of the Clinton Climate Initiative (CCI) its spray polyurethane foam (SPF) roofing.

The announcement coincides with former President Clinton’s announcement of CCI’s expanded efforts to make energy- efficient and clean-energy technologies available to 1,100 cities at the US Conference of Mayors.

The aim of the CCI is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by providing sustainable solutions to cities around the world. SPF roofing offers superior waterproofing and insulation properties, and also can be applied over the top of existing roof layers. This provides the further benefit of eliminating the need to send waste to a landfill.

BASF Polyurethane Foam Enterprises LLC, a wholly-owned subsidiary of BASF Corporation, offers spray-applied and pour-in-place polyurethane foam technology engineered to meet and exceed performance criteria for every code and climate. For more information, see the Web site.
