The BBC has selected AMEC to provide building services, project management, and cost consultancy under its new framework agreement. The BBC agreement covers suppliers providing services that cannot be delivered in-house, and large projects where fees will exceed the EU procurement limit. It comes at a time when the BBC is seeking to upgrade its entire UK property portfolio. This is the latest of many long-term agreements AMEC has made with such organizations as the UK Ministry of Defence, BAA, and Railtrack. AMEC merged recently with AGRA Inc, a leading North American professional engineering and environmental services firm, and owns 41.6 per cent of SPIE S.A., the international electrical engineering, infrastructure and construction services company based in France.
