BBJ Environmental device cleans HVAC cooling coil automatically

December 5, 2001—BBJ Environmental Solutions has utilized breakthrough technology in their Clean in Place (CIP) system, an automated device that cleans and treats an HVAC system’s air handler cooling coil, keeping the system in like-new condition and eliminating the mold and bacterial growth and other fouling that accumulate during normal operation. BBJ asserts that systems maintained in this manner will operate more economically, last longer, and provide cleaner and healthier air to the conditioned spaces in a building. A contractor can install the CIP device on any new or existing HVAC system.

According to BBJ, the device automates a difficult and messy task that technicians may avoid or be unable to do because the contaminated parts are not accessible, yet is vitally important to customer satisfaction and improved IAQ (indoor air quality). Even where a system is serviced once or twice a year, such contamination builds up between visits and slowly degrades system operation and air quality. A CIP system makes periodic access unnecessary, as the technician simply replaces the BBJ concentration containers once a year.

The production model of the CIP system will be introduced to the industry at the International Air-Conditioning Heating and Refrigeration Exposition in Atlantic City January 14, 15, and 16, 2001. For more information about CIP, e-mail BBJ at info@bbjenviro.com or call 800/889-2251.
