BCI sells property division to Land Securities

Blue Circle Industries (BCI) is selling Whitecliff Properties, its wholly owned property division, along with a 4 million sq. m. (43 million sq. ft.) portfolio of properties in North West Kent and a site in Cambridge, to Land Securities for 60 million. The transaction also includes a joint venture between BCI and Land Securities to develop Ebbsfleet, the domestic and international passenger station on the Channel Tunnel Rail Link as well as the Swanscombe Peninsula. BCI will receive payment for the land and a share in development profits, and Land Securities will provide development expertise as well as funding.
